If you free up disk space it will improve the performance of your computer resulting in a more speedy computer.

• First you need to remove your temporary internet files. Its amazing how fast this file can fill up.

• Windows also has a temporary file you can empty.

• Remove program files you don’t use anymore.

• Empty your recycle bin.

• Remove windows components that you don’t use.

• Windows has a disk cleanup that will free up space on your computer. To find the disk cleanup click start, go to all programs, then point to accessories, under accessories go to system tools then click disk cleanup.

• Run the disk defragmenter. Click Start, go to All Programs, then to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Defragmenter.

Run the Error Checking utility. When you use your hard drive it can develop bad sectors that slow down your computer. The Error Checking utility scans your hard drive for bad sectors and for files or folders that are misplaced. Go to My Computer, right click the hard disk and click properties. In the properties box click the tools tab, click the check now button. In check disk box select the scan for and attempt recovery for bad sectors and then click start. If any bad sectors are found choose to fix them. Only select the "Automatically fix file system errors" check box if you think that your disk contains bad sectors. 

• You should always protect your computer against spy ware. You can download anti spy ware software.
